Vice Mayor Marc Imberman
Marc Imberman, is a 16-year resident of Surfside. He is married to the former Kathy Aszkenas of Connecticut. They have two children, Max and Hannah, and provide a loving home for the retired racing greyhounds they have rescued.

Born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Marc moved to North Miami Beach at the age of 12, and graduated from the Hebrew Academy on Miami Beach. Marc received his education from several colleges and universities, including the University of Miami, Florida International University, and Temple University in Philadelphia. Marc is a computer consultant specializing in systems analysis. For the past thirteen years, the Imbermans have run their own computer consultancy.

Mr. Imberman is an active volunteer in the local public school system, and sat on the board of the Advocates for Gifted and Advanced Education, a parent activist group, for three years. Before being elected to the Surfside Commission in March 2006, Marc served as a member on both the Parks and Recreation Committee and the Town Manager’s Merchants Advisory Committee, and participated in many Surfside public service activities, including the Adopt-a-Tree program, sea oats planting events, and annual Baynanza beach clean-ups. Currently, Mr. Imberman is proud to represent Surfside as a board member of the Miami-Dade County League of Cities, and he serves as the League’s only appointment to the Miami-Dade County Mayor’s Film and Entertainment Advisory Board. Marc is also a Vice-President of the local Kiwanis Club, North Shore Kiwanis, and he currently serves as President of the John F. Kennedy Middle School PTA.
