Many decisions are made at the federal, state and county levels which have enormous impacts on communities and neighborhoods at the local level.  It is very important that the residents of our community engage in an ongoing effort to communicate with officials at County Hall, at the State Capital, and in Washington D.C. in order to keep them apprised of how you want them to represent your interests and concerns within the scope of their jurisdiction.

Surfside is engaged in numerous efforts to participate in productive positive improvements on transportation related issues, on public safety issues, on growth management issues, on public education issues, on government accountability issues, and on a wide array of important topics that involve numerous agencies and jurisdictions at all levels.  The support of our entire community for these efforts is crucial.  Your communications to public officials are a vital part of our representative democracy.
