Community Center
The Surfside Community Center, located at 9301 Collins Avenue, is a unique facility that is the site of many of the town's civic activities, special events, public meetings and civic programs.

Residents and tourists alike will find much to do at the Community Center, which houses a magnificent pool, easy beach and ocean access, snack bar, the Library, a large auditorium for town meetings, concerts, and private functions, the Recreation Department Office, the Tourist Bureau Office, and much more for everyone's enjoyment.

Library

The Surfside Public Library serves the residents of the community.  It is a friendly, neighborhood library that is constantly upgrading its resources to offer the most current novels for adult and children’s reading pleasure.  The extensive collection is designed to appeal to the diverse tastes of a large audience.  Newspapers, magazines, books on cassette tape or cd, Internet and wireless access are available, and DVDs and videos may be checked out.  A selection of large print fiction and non-fiction is also included.

The StoryTime sessions held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., are popular with our younger residents, ages 2-4, who attend with their parents and grandparents.

To obtain a library card, applicants are required to bring a photo I.D. and proof of Surfside residency (e.g. voter registration card, tax bill or water bill).  Area tourists and visitors may apply for temporary membership.

Pool
The main pool is a large, beautiful and enjoyable "magnet" for the enjoyment of all residents and tourists. There is also a "kiddy pool" for the youngest of the family.

The pool is heated and it is open 7 days a week, year round. With direct access to Surfside's magnificent public beach, the swimming pool and its amenities is a very popular place for people of all ages. There is a nominal admission fee required for use of the pool by visitors and guests, and admission is free throughout the year for Town residents.

Beach
The Surfside beach runs from 88th street through 96th street, east of Collins Avenue. Beach access is provided from each cross street and from the Community Center between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM
