The Town of Surfside’s Third Thursday events, a block-party-style-celebration of live entertainment, food, sustainability and wellness, are set to return next year on January 20, February 17 and March 17! Save the dates and bring your neighbors to the big bash taking place from 6 to 9 p.m. at 9500 Collins Ave.
The 2022 series promises to deliver unique experiences via three distinct, and “turtely-awesome” Surfside themes.
- 'Turtletown' (Jan. 20), the first event’s theme kicking off the series, spotlights the Town’s adopted mascot while highlighting sustainability and environmentally-friendly practices.
- February’s ‘Authortown’ (Feb. 17) will pay tribute to some of the literary giants that give name to Surfside’s residential streets.
- The final date’s ‘Full Moon Town’ (March 17) will celebrate the spirit of dance, percussion and art under the watchful gaze of the March full moon.
On hold since February 2020 due to the pandemic, January’s event will mark the first time visitors outside Town borders and the general public are invited to a Surfside special event. After a challenging past few years, the community is eager to reconnect with friends and neighbors while enjoying an evening of entertainment, food and unique activations.
Partnering with Visit Surfside for the events next season is acclaimed local journalist, author and event producer, Sara Liss.
“Third Thursdays has been a community staple for many years, and I’m so excited to welcome visitors and the community back to these iconic events. We can’t wait to share the many creative ideas and vendors we have lined up to give everyone a true taste of Surfside’s small-town charm.”
Attendees can expect a slew of family-friendly activities and performers as well as the presence of local businesses on site. Adult beverages will be available for those 21 and over in addition to food from several Harding Avenue restaurants.
