From the Office of Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally A. Heyman
The sky over Miami will display a marvelous array of colors and figures. There will be hundreds of kites in the air during the kite festival coming to Haulover Park, 10800 Collins Avenue, Miami, FL 33154, on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Expect to see the 100-foot flying squid, the 30-foot flying scuba man, several 300-square foot parafoils, the monster cuttlefish, the monster rainbow stingray, and many more.
Bring the whole family and fly along with the experts from around the country. We recommend you wear shoes, bring a blanket to sit on, chairs, balls, frisbees, and anything else you need to camp out for the day. In addition, there will be bounce houses, face painters, a clown, a balloon twister, the best festival DJ music, and arts and crafts. Bring your own kite or purchase one from our large selection. If you just want to watch, bring a blanket and enjoy the sight of hundreds of kites in the air and some great music. Food and refreshments from South Florida's favorite food trucks will be available for purchase or bring a picnic basket, sorry no grills allowed. Admission is free and parking is $7 per car.
