Learn the basics of disaster response during this free three-day training to become a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Participants will learn skills such as fire rescue, damage assessment and search and rescue practices to help others in the community before professional responders arrive to an incident.
Those interested must first complete the online lecture portion of the training (Phase 1).
Phase 2, in-person trainings, will be held at the 96th Street Park on Sunday, April 11 and Sunday, April 18. Participants must complete all of Phases 1 and 2 to be certified.
