PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE, FLORIDA WILL HOLD A REGULAR COMMISSION MEETING ON TUESDAY, MARCH 12, 2024 AT 6:00 PM AT 9293 HARDING AVENUE, SECOND FLOOR COMMISSION, CHAMBERS, SURFSIDE, FLORIDA.

In accordance with the ADA persons with disabilities requiring accommodations in order to participate in this public meeting should contact the Office of the Town Clerk at (305) 861-4863 no later than two business days prior to such proceedings.


Please note that one or more members of any Town Board may be present at this meeting.

TOWN OF SURFSIDE

 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – SECOND READING

 

The Town of Surfside proposes to adopt the following Ordinances on second reading and Public Hearing on the Ordinances will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as allowed in the Town Hall, Commission Chambers, 9293 Harding Avenue, Surfside, Florida as follows:

 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING SECTION 90-74. – TEMPORARY SIGNS” TO REMOVE SUBSECTION (3) LIMITATION ON REAL ESTATE SIGNS PERTAINING TO COLOR AND LOGO; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING SECTION 14-31 – “REQUIRED ROOFING MATERIALS” AND SECTION 90-50.1 – “ARCHITECTURE” OF SECTION 90-50. – “ARCHITECTURE AND ROOF DECKS” TO CLARIFY REQUIREMENTS AND ALLOW RE-ROOFS AND REPLACEMENTS WITH THE SAME EXISTING MATERIAL WITHOUT DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL BY THE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 The proposed Ordinances may be inspected by the public at the Office of the Town Clerk.  Interested parties may appear at the Public Hearing and be heard with respect to the proposed Ordinances.

 In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, individuals who need special accommodations in order to attend or to participate in this proceeding should contact the Office of the Town Clerk, (305) 861-4863, no later than seven (7) days prior to the proceeding in order to request such assistance.

 

Any person wishing to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at this meeting or hearing will need a record of the proceeding and for such purpose may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made; which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be made.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

 The Town of Surfside hereby gives notice of public hearings for the consideration of the following Ordinance:

 

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE, FLORIDA AMENDING THE TOWN’S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY ADOPTING THE EVALUATION AND APPRAISAL BASED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENTS; AUTHORIZING TRANSMITTAL; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; CONFLICTS; AND FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

Public Hearings in the Town of Surfside, Town Hall Commission Chambers, 9293 Harding Avenue, Surfside, Florida 33154 shall be held as follows:

 

  • Planning and Zoning Board/        February 29, 2024             6:00 p.m.

    Local Planning Agency

  • Town Commission                          March 12, 2024                  6:00 p.m.

 

Interested parties may appear at the Public Hearings and be heard with respect to the proposed Ordinance.  Any person wishing to address the Planning and Zoning Board/LPA or Town Commission on any item at the Public Hearing is asked to register with the Town Clerk prior to that item being heard.

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, all persons who are disabled and who need special accommodations to participate in this proceeding because of that disability should contact the Office of the Town Clerk, 305-861-4863, no later than two business days prior to such proceedings.
