Surfside Police Successfully Conclude Undercover Operation, Arrest Theft Suspect

A focused undercover operation by the Surfside Police Department has led to the successful arrest of an individual linked to multiple thefts in the community.

The monthlong initiative culminated on Monday, Dec. 9, with the suspect's apprehension along the 9400 block of Harding Avenue while allegedly committing a bicycle theft. Investigators had previously connected the suspect to a theft behind CVS and a retail theft at Big Daddy's Liquor, both captured on surveillance footage.
“This arrest highlights the dedication of our officers and their commitment to safeguarding Surfside,” Deputy Chief of Police Arley Flaherty said. “The proactive measures taken during this operation are a testament to the teamwork and professionalism of our Criminal Investigations Unit.”
