Parents looking for an exciting and educational way to keep their children engaged this summer are invited to register for the Town of Surfside’s Parks & Recreation summer camp, hosted in partnership with the YMCA of South Florida. The program runs from June 9 through August 1, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is open to children ages 5 to 12.
Campers will enjoy a full day of learning, discovery and fun, including STEM exploration, literacy enrichment, outdoor play and creative projects. The curriculum is designed to spark curiosity in science, technology, engineering and math fields while encouraging a lifelong love of reading and writing.
Hosted at the 96th Street Park, 9580 Bay Drive in Surfside, the camp offers a dynamic, hands-on environment where kids can participate in activities that build confidence, encourage collaboration and inspire creativity.
Town residents can register for $195 per week, while non-residents will pay $250 per week. A one-time registration fee of $50 applies to all campers. Meals are included daily, with lunch and snacks provided by Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Financial assistance is available for qualifying families.
Parents are encouraged to register early by visiting https://ymcasfl.my.site.com/s/registration or contacting Jacobs at [email protected] or (305) 357-4000 ext. 2118.
Camp staff will conduct an intake assessment for children with special needs to ensure an inclusive and supportive experience for all participants.
