“Mondays with the Manager” Highlights Kushner Groundbreaking and Commission Priorities

Town officials and Kushner Companies celebrated the groundbreaking of a 68-unit luxury rental development at 9300 Collins Avenue.

Surfside Mayor Charles W. Burkett joined Vice Mayor Tina Paul, Commissioners Nelly Velasquez and Gerardo Vildostegui at the ceremony, along with Town Manager Mark Blumstein, to commemorate the project’s beginning. The mixed-use, three‑story building will offer studio to four‑bedroom residences.

A cornerstone of the design is the preservation and integration of a 1940s MiMo–style façade from the former Bougainvillea Apartments. That historic element will serve as a distinctive entry feature along Collins Avenue, merging Surfside’s architectural past with its future.

“This project marks a new chapter for Surfside,” said Town Manager Blumstein. “It preserves our Town’s history, strengthens our tax base, and introduces an upscale rental option, all while maintaining our unique coastal charm.”

Episode 7 of "Mondays with the Manager" spotlights Mayor Burkett and Blumstein discussing the groundbreaking and the meaningful community impact. They highlight how the project fosters downtown connectivity, walkability and economic growth.

Construction is underway and expected to be completed by late 2026.
