“Mondays with the Manager” Highlights New PADL Rentals at 96th Street Park

In this week’s episode of “Mondays with the Manager,” Town Manager Mark Blumstein announces the launch of PADL self-service paddleboard rentals at Surfside’s 96th Street Park—part of a growing initiative to enhance recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. Self-service paddleboard rentals now available, with kayaks coming soon.

“We’re excited to make getting on the water easier than ever,” Blumstein said. “With just a few taps on the PADL app, you can unlock a paddleboard, enjoy the water, and return the equipment when you’re done. It’s fast, convenient and supports our commitment to promoting an active, healthy lifestyle in Surfside.”

The rentals are powered by PADL, a mobile app available for free in the App Store and Google Play. Once registered, users can rent equipment directly through the app, which also tracks ride stats and routes.

Kayak rentals are expected to follow in the coming weeks, further expanding water recreation at 96th Street Park. The launch complements the Town’s on-site kayak ramp and easy water access.

The PADL station is open to the public during regular park hours. If the kayak launch gate is locked, visitors may request access from the attendant at the park office. For assistance, call 305-866-3635.

To get started, scan the QR code posted at the rental rack or search for “PADL” in your mobile app store.
