Surfside Welcomes Maranata School Bus Service for Back-to-School Transportation

The Town of Surfside is pleased to welcome Maranata, a professional school bus service company, as the new transportation provider for Surfside students to Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center, subject to Town Commission approval.

Town Administration has arranged for service to begin on Thursday, August 14, 2025, and continue through Friday, August 22, 2025, aligning with the start of the new school year.  With approval of the Town Commission, the service will continue throughout the school year.

To help families prepare for the school year, a dry run is scheduled for Wednesday, August 13, 2025, and parents are invited to attend. This is a great opportunity to meet the provider, see the bus, and learn about the route and safety features ahead of the first day of school. Please join us on the Maranata bus at 7:45 a.m. at Stop 1 at the Community Garden (89th Street & Dickens Avenue) or at 8 a.m. at Stop 2 at Paws Up Park (93rd Street & Byron Avenue).

The Maranata school bus is air-conditioned and equipped with seat belts, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for all student riders. A photo of the vehicle is included below.

We look forward to a successful and great start to the school year.
