"Mondays with the Manager:" Surfside Completes Downtown Sidewalk Sandblasting Project, Enhancing Safety and Appearance

The Town of Surfside has completed its sidewalk sandblasting project in the Downtown Business District, bringing a cleaner, safer and more welcoming environment to one of the community’s busiest pedestrian corridors.

The work, carried out along the east side of Harding Avenue from 96th Street to 94th Street, was performed overnight to minimize disruption to businesses and residents. The project was part of the Town’s ongoing investment in beautification and public safety.

“Investing in the upkeep of our Downtown District is essential,” said Town Manager Mark Blumstein. “This project is about more than maintenance, it’s about making Surfside a cleaner, safer and more welcoming place for our residents, businesses and visitors. We are committed to ensuring that our sidewalks reflect the vibrant character of our Town.”

Residents and visitors can now enjoy brighter, cleaner walking paths that complement the Downtown area’s shops, restaurants and gathering spaces.

The project is featured on the latest “Mondays with the Manager,” Surfside’s weekly video series providing residents with updates on Town projects, services and upcoming initiatives. Episodes are available on the Surfside Government Access Channel (Channel 663 through Breezeline or check your local listings) and on the Town’s website and YouTube channel.

The Town thanks residents and business owners for their patience during the overnight work and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining Downtown Surfside as a safe and vibrant community hub
