Beach Renourishment Coming to Surfside
Starting Nov. 17 through Dec. 23, 2025, Ocean House Surfside, in coordination with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), will carry out a beach renourishment project to restore and enhance Surfside’s shoreline between 88th Street and 96th Street.
The project will place approximately 11,000 cubic yards of beach-quality sand from an upland source to strengthen the beachfront and support long-term coastal resilience.
Residents may notice increased truck activity near 88th Street and along the designated staging area on the beach as sand-hauling vehicles transport materials. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Thank you for your patience as this important project helps preserve our beautiful beachfront community.
