Surfside Police Urges Caution as Holiday Traffic Increases

As the holiday season approaches, the Surfside Police Department is reminding residents and visitors to drive safely, plan ahead, and remain alert while traveling throughout the Town.

“Plan ahead, drive carefully, and watch for pedestrians,” said Chief Press. “Our officers will be on duty to assist with traffic, respond quickly to incidents, and ensure the safety of everyone in our community.”

Holiday traffic is expected to increase, particularly near parks, beach access points, shopping areas, and key intersections. Residents are encouraged to leave extra time for travel, follow posted traffic signs, and exercise patience on busy roads. Pedestrian safety is also a priority, and drivers should remain alert for walkers, cyclists, and families enjoying seasonal activities.

The Surfside Police Department will maintain a visible presence throughout the Town and provide assistance as needed to keep traffic flowing and ensure public safety. The department also reminds motorists to obey speed limits, avoid distractions while driving, and report any unsafe conditions to authorities.
