Smiles and holiday cheer filled homes as the Surfside Police Department, in partnership with the Chief Press Foundation, donated toys and gifts to 30 families from a shelter supporting women in recovery.
The effort was part of the department’s annual Shop With a Cop event, which pairs police officers with children for a festive shopping experience designed to ease financial burdens and strengthen community connections during the holiday season.
“This event goes beyond gifts,” said Surfside Police Chief Charles R. Press. “It’s about showing these families that their community cares and that they are supported, especially during the holidays. Seeing the joy on the children’s faces is a reminder of why these moments matter.”
The Shop With a Cop program reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and compassion, reinforcing positive relationships between officers and residents while spreading hope during the season of giving.
