Teen Yoga and Meditation Workshop Draws Strong Turnout at Surfside Park

Nearly 20 teens participated in a free yoga and meditation workshop held Dec. 20 at 96th Street Surfside Park, reflecting growing interest in mindfulness and wellness programming for young people in the community.

The complimentary Teen Yoga and Meditation workshop welcomed 19 participants and introduced practical tools such as yoga, breathing techniques and meditation practices designed to support mental and emotional well-being.

The session was led by instructor Andrea Travani, a Surfside resident, in partnership with Yoga 4 Meditation, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accessible wellness resources to schools and communities. The organization regularly hosts free workshops aimed at equipping youth with healthy coping strategies they can use in their daily lives.

In addition to special events, Yoga 4 Meditation offers ongoing programming in the area. Weekly yoga classes are held Sundays at 11 a.m. at the Surfside Community Center and are open to both residents and non-residents. Teen and young adult classes are also offered Sundays at 4:30 p.m. at Milla’s Studio in Bay Harbor Islands.

Parks and Recreation will continue expanding free and low-cost wellness opportunities for teens and families while strengthening community connections in Surfside.
