"One Life" Screening Wraps MFF By Moonlight Series in Surfside


Dozens showed up to enjoy March's MFF By Moonlight screening of One Life in partnership with the Miami Film Festival on Sunday, March 22. The evening offered a relaxed atmosphere, with attendees enjoying the idyllic weather conditions in addition to complimentary popcorn, snacks and iced tea.

2024 - 2026 Surfside Vice Mayor Tina Paul provided remarks and was joined by by Commissioner Gerardo Vildostegui who also welcomed and introduced 2026 - 2028 Vice Mayor Donna Benmergui, as well as Commissioner Dovid Weingot.

Tourism Director Frank Trigueros was also in attendance along with representatives from the Miami Film Festival (MFF). 

Starring Academy Award® winner Anthony Hopkins, the film tells the powerful true story of Sir Nicholas “Nicky” Winton, the London broker who helped rescue more than 600 children from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia in the months leading up to World War II. The inspiring narrative resonated with the audience, creating a meaningful and reflective experience for moviegoers gathered on the sand.

The well-attended screening brought the community together for an evening of film and conversation, continuing Surfside’s partnership with the Miami Film Festival and its commitment to offering unique cultural programming in a scenic beachfront setting.

An additional film screening will take place with the Miami Jewish Film Festival on Sunday, April 12.
