On May 1, Mayor Shlomo Danzinger and Vice Mayor Dayana Benmergui were onsite at the Miami-Dade Department of Elections headquarters in Doral as the remaining ballots were cured and counted and the Surfside mayoral election was certified. During their visit, Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia gave Mayor Danzinger and Vice Mayor Benmergui a tour of the facility and an overview of the election operations process.
The Town thanks the Miami-Dade Elections Office for its professionalism, transparency and continued support throughout the 2026 general election cycle, helping ensure a smooth and secure process for Surfside voters.
