Surfside Celebrates Lifelong Creativity Through Community Art Exhibit

The Town of Surfside welcomed residents and visitors to the “A Lifetime of Creativity” Art Exhibit on May 18 at the Surfside Community Center, celebrating artistic expression, lifelong learning and community connection.

Mayor Shlomo Danzinger and Vice Mayor Dayana Benmergui joined attendees in celebrating the exhibit and recognizing the importance of arts and cultural programming in bringing the community together.

Presented in partnership with the Miami Beach Adult & Continuing Education Center, the exhibit featured vibrant artwork created by students whose pieces reflected imagination, passion and personal storytelling through art.

The event highlighted the continued success of a creative program first introduced to Surfside in 2019 through the efforts of community service advocate Marjorie York and former Commissioner Tina Paul. Since its inception, the program has provided residents with opportunities to explore artistic expression in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Students were guided by Winsome Bolt, art instructor and Miami-Dade County Public Schools Member, whose leadership and encouragement have helped inspire participants to develop their artistic talents and confidence.

Attendees enjoyed a morning of art, refreshments and fellowship while celebrating creativity at every stage of life. The exhibit served as a reminder of the important role arts and cultural programming play in strengthening community connections in Surfside.
