Surfside Police Host Hurricane Preparedness Coffee With the Cops Event

The Surfside Police Department welcomed residents, condominium managers, business owners and community members on May 21 for a Coffee With the Cops event focused on hurricane preparedness ahead of the 2026 hurricane season.

Held at the Residence Inn by Marriott, the community gathering provided attendees with important hurricane safety information, emergency preparedness tips and an opportunity to engage directly with members of the Police Department in an informal setting.

Commissioner Andrea Travani and representatives from Commissioner Micky Steinberg’s office attended the event alongside Surfside condominium managers and locals to discuss the importance of preparation, communication and community coordination before severe weather impacts South Florida.

Police officials encouraged residents and businesses to review emergency plans, secure necessary supplies and stay informed throughout hurricane season.

Coffee With the Cops is part of the Surfside Police Department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships with the community while providing residents with valuable public safety resources and information.
