More than 100 residents, families, coaches and athletes gathered at 96th Street Park on June 1 for the Surfside Sports Award Ceremony, demonstrating the community's resilience and enthusiasm despite rainy weather and lightning throughout the evening.
The event celebrated the outstanding achievements of Surfside's youth athletes and overachievers, recognizing their dedication, perseverance and accomplishments both on and off the field.
While weather conditions presented challenges, attendees remained committed to honoring the award recipients, creating an evening filled with pride, recognition and community spirit.
The ceremony highlighted the importance of youth sports and the positive impact athletics have on developing teamwork, discipline and leadership among Surfside's young residents.
