Water quality tests completed on Tuesday, Jan. 30, indicate that the water quality at Surfside Beach-93 Street does not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health. DOH-Miami-Dade advises against any water-related activities at this location due to the potential for high bacteria levels. Bacteriological sampling conducted during regular water quality monitoring showed that the level of bacteria exceeds the level established by state guidelines. This advisory will continue until bacteria levels are below the accepted health level. New test results should be available for Surfside Beach-93 Street on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
The Town's Beach Club will continue to operate for those seeking to enjoy the beach without entering the water. For more information, call the Department of Health at 305-324-2400, visit MiamiDade.FloridaHealth.gov or follow them on X at @HealthyFla.
