All Miami-Dade County residents can visit the Miami-Dade County Home Chemical Collection Centers any time during normal operating hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday – Sunday). No appointment is needed. No commercial disposal is permitted.

Members of Surfside’s Youth Council, accompanied by Vice Mayor Tina Paul, traveled to Tallahassee to participate in the Florida League of Cities Youth Council Legislative Action Day, March 25-26, 2025. The event provided an invaluable opportunity for the members to collaborate with Youth Councils from across Florida, while honing their skills in public speaking, negotiation, and collaboration.
During their time in the state capital, the Youth Council members met with Florida Senators Shevrin Jones and Jason Pizzo. The discussions focused on several active Senate bills, particularly those related to education and environmental protection. The members made their voices heard, expressing their opinions on issues that directly impact the future of the state and its residents.This experience allowed Surfside's Youth Council to not only learn more about the legislative process but also to actively participate in shaping the discussions around important statewide issues.As the council continues to develop its leadership and advocacy skills, residents can look forward to more exciting events and projects in the near future.
