All Miami-Dade County residents can visit the Miami-Dade County Home Chemical Collection Centers any time during normal operating hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday – Sunday). No appointment is needed. No commercial disposal is permitted.

Love lifted higher! On Sunday, June 8, donned in colorful attire, residents gathered at the Community Center flagpoles for the annual Flag-Raising Ceremony in recognition of LGBTQ Pride Month. Vice Mayor Tina Paul and Commissioner Gerardo Vildostegui joined Town Manager Mark Blumstein at the ceremony where they spoke genuinely about the flag’s history and the significance of the event for those growing up in Surfside. Former Elected Officials were also on hand to support the flag raising.
President Bill Clinton first recognized “Gay and Lesbian Pride Month” in 1999 before President Barack Obama expanded the proclamation to LGBT Pride Month in 2009.
