PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE, FLORIDA, WILL HOLD A QUASI-JUDICIAL HEARING ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 9, 2024 AT 5:00 P.M. AT 9293 HARDING AVENUE, SECOND FLOOR COMMISSION CHAMBERS, SURFSIDE, FLORIDA 33154.  THE TOWN COMMISSION WILL DISCUSS THE FOLLOWING:

• VARIANCE FOR 9341 BAY DRIVE
• CONDITIONAL USE FOR 9133 COLLINS AVENUE


All persons are invited to appear at this meeting or be represented by an agent, or to express their views in writing addressed to the Town Manager, 9293 Harding Avenue, Surfside, FL 33154. The applications, ordinances and all other documents related thereto are available for public inspection during normal business hours at Town Hall. Inquiries may be directed to the Town Clerk at (305) 861-4863.

In accordance with the provisions of section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, anyone wishing to appeal any decision made by the town of surfside commission, with respect to any matter considered at this meeting or hearing, will need a record of the proceedings and for such purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made which record shall include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

Lots 4 and 5, of Block 2, of ALTOS DEL MAR NO. 4, according the plat thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 10, Page 63, of the Public Records of Miami-Dade County, Florida.

The subject of the hearing is to consider an Application to amend Site Plans approved by the Town Commission on February 13, 2018 (Resolution No. 18-2489) and April 13, 2021 (Resolution 21-2782), by requesting: (i) reduce project density from 29 units to 24 units (ii) remove the hotel (all 26 units); (iii) conditional use approval to retain the restaurant as accessory to multifamily use; (iv) increase restaurant square footage to approximately 11,368 sq.ft. to provide additional indoor dining within the historic Seaway Building; (v) revise the landscape plan; (vi) seven (7) Caretaker’s Quarters; and (vii) a revised parking plan.  The previously approved Site Plans, entitled “9133-9149 Collins Avenue Surfside, Florida 33153” and dated October 2017, as modified by sheets A0.00, A1.03, A1.04, A1.05, A3.02, A4.01 and A4.02 dated December 2020 and sheet A3.00.1 dated April 17, 2021, and the proposed amendments to the Site Plan, are on file and may be examined in the Building Department, 9293 Harding Ave., Surfside, FL 33154, 305-861-4863.
